Ugh, social media isn’t worth the hype at times. When it’s not, it’s surely time to detox from social media and bring back peace within ourselves.
Detox from Social Media
To detox (noun): a process or period of time in which one abstains from or rids the body of toxic or unhealthy substances. To detox from social media entails you to isolate from all online apps and websites. This will mean that you will only be connected to people that have access to you directly. Whether it’s your number or they physically know how to reach you.
Eliminate the Apps
Social media includes all apps and other platforms that promote content sharing, messaging, dating or hookups. So, this would mean to detox from Facebook & Messenger, Twitter, Instagram, Grindr, Tinder, Jackd, TikTok and WhatsApp. Although, the list of platforms are extensive, those are just some of the common networks. The point is, to properly detox from social media, you must commit to not access any social sites and apps. The challenge to detox from social media will show how dependable you are to these networks. More so, there’s more to life than scrolling on Facebook, waiting for the next Gorilla Glue story.
