When one thinks of goals, they only think about being productive. That’s the status quo, as goals isn’t just about the bottom line; Whether it’s personal or business.
Goals aren’t complicated, once you simplify them.
As, goals should be about the vision that you see for yourself. Goals are the baby steps to achieving the mission and dreams that you desire. Without these baby steps, there’s impossibility of growing and getting better. Baby steps will allow you time to see what’s effective, and what’s not. Maybe you thought that exercising every day at 8:00 a.m. was the best way to be productive, but then realize it’s making your day seem longer. Then, you change up your schedule to be more flexible, so that you can exercise anytime. Reality is, exercising daily is one goal, while exercising at 8:00 a.m. is a separate goal. Through simplification, as long as you exercise daily, your goal is met.
Always trying to be productive, is always the problem. It’s not the goals that you are setting for yourself, but the stipulations that you place on them. Personally, I have a goal to post at least once on my Twitter account daily. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is, or what that post is about, as long as I post my goal is met. The benefit of this, is that life varies each day and who knows what tomorrow may bring, that today didn’t. It’s crucial to self-punish yourself when unforeseen situations arise. If you ask me, goals aren’t about the time and place, but the effort. If I’m putting in effort into what I want, it will be rewarded to me. As, you can be highly productive, yet unable to meet the timing of your goal. If your goal is to become a famous song-writer by age 34, would you be a failure if you became such at age 35?
No, that would not make a failure. Timing does matter, but goals take time. Greatness takes greater time.
More so, let your goals be about the vision that you see for yourself. Let them be about what you believe in, not about what you feel you need to do. Sometimes, you set your goals based on the goals of others’. Not only is that unfair to you, but it’s unauthentic of you to do. When you have passion about your goals and what you’re pushing towards, the chances of success is high likely. When you work on yourself, work on yourself because that’s your objective. The objective to best the person that you can be — especially for self. Not only is that fair to you, but it’s putting you on path to glory and greatness. Always remember, your vision is within the heart of your goals. The more heart you put into your goals, the more sincere your success will be.
